My 2017 Beauty Favourites

HELLO 2018! It's a little crazy to think that 2017 is over. But, I have to say I'm actually really excited for 2018, on to bigger and better things... right? Anyways, over the last year I like to keep tabs on the products I've continuously grabbed for or have re-purchased. So here's my 10 most used products of 2017!

1. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

As someone who can have days starting at 6 am until late in the evening it's important that my makeup can wear ALL day. I've found since using this primer that my foundation just works better, my skin looks smoother, and I'm not fixing my makeup as often. Pro tip with this foundation: less is more. I only apply this to the areas my pores are the most prominent.

2. NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder

If you're like me and your skin tends to be on the oilier side, then chances are you end up glowing more than your highlighter meant too. This powder has completely changed my makeup game and I'm not needing to blot my shinny face multiple times a day anymore. I apply this with a medium size brush on my most oily parts of my face.

3. Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

I'm not going to lie when I first started using setting sprays I hated it. The idea of misting some mixture of things all over my face didn't sound like it was going to help my makeup, but possibly ruin it instead. Obviously my opinion has changed over the years, and I've had tried a handful of these sprays. But this Pixi one takes the cake, it works and it's refreshing and smells amazing (ROSES).

4. Garnier Micellar All-In-1 Cleansing Water

I'm really not one to stick to a daily skincare routine, but I hate the idea of going to bed with makeup on. This Micellar Water is my absolute fav, it breaks down all my makeup and it leaves my skin feeling super soft and clean. It also comes in makeup wipes which are perfect for travelling!

5. L'Oréal Pure Clay Masks

Best part of these masks (other than the fact they work well) is that they are all about mixing and matching. My favourite ones to use are the black one for dull skin and the red one for exfoliating.

6. Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil

THIS IS THE BEST. It's not only extremely comfortable to wear and apply, but this stuff is the best for turning your lips smooth and shiny. Also the applicator is so soft it's like applying the lip oil with a cloud.

7. Kylie Cosmetics Blush - X Rated

To be quite honest blush is something that I'm never really overly excited by. For example for the past three previous years I've been basically wearing the Too faced Sweethearts blush on the daily. But this one was my most reached for blush of 2017. It's a gorgeous colour, and a reliable formula.

8. L'Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

2017 was the year I stopped buying expensive mascaras and started only buying drugstore ones. I've always thought that mascara is something you don't need to splurge on and this one by L'Oréal is the perfect example that. Even with just one coat it makes a huge difference. Just stay away from pumping the mascara wand as the product can dry up faster and clump to the brush.

9. Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow

If you've been following my blog for a while then you've probably seen these liquid eye shadows make a few appearances in multiple blog posts. I own the Kitten Karma one and Diamond Dust and they are both so beautiful. Highly HIGHLY recommend these for anyone who loves to add sparkle and glitter to their makeup.

10. Tarte Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette

Okay beauty lovers, if you don't have this palette yet this is a must-have. This palette was definitely my most used one of 2017, I took it on all my trips and it was my go-to when I wasn't sure what to wear. With 16 stunning matte shades, and four gorgeous duo-chrome shades the number of looks you can create are endless. A really cool fact about the palette is that each row was designed to create the perfect look by combining the four mattes and adjacent duo-chrome shadows.

And that's it! My most-used and loved beauty favourites of 2017. If you have any favourite products form last year please list them in the comments - I'd love to check them out.

Thank you for all the love in 2017. I can't wait to share more posts with you this year. Best of luck!
