The count down is on, only a few more days till the biggest night of the year - NEW YEAR'S EVE! Time to get your party clothes ready, and to finish off the look I have a bold and glitzy makeup look for you. And it's my last post of 2015!

Get Ready With Me: Christmas Party

It's Christmas Eve and I'm finally posting my first holiday post - just under the wire! Today's post is also another first, my first "get ready with me" post. Follow along as I get ready for a Christmas party.

Let's get right into it!

Just Checking In and the Aveda Giveaway Winner!

Wow. So it's been three weeks since I've last posted. To my weekly readers, I'm sorry for not posting. The reason that I've been gone is because I've been out of town for the last month, and I just haven't had the time to post regularly.

Top Fall/Winter Accessories

I'm not a fan of the cold, but I'm huge fan of winter clothing. I love the look of cozy sweaters, and warm scarves. I remember when I was growing up that I couldn't stand wearing turtle necks and parkas, but now being an adult and knowing my style I love the different types of warm clothing that's available. Today I have five different fall/winter accessories that I think are essential to any colder weather wardrobe.

1. The small black bag. I think it's essential to have one of these for the winter. They are so versatile! You can wear it out shopping, or at a holiday party. This bag is from Call it Spring.

My First Aveda Institute Experience & Giveaway!

Last week I experienced Aveda for the first time, and it was fantastic. Not only was the staff incredibly kind, but they all knew so much about Aveda and had such passion for the company.

The Blush Jacket

One of my go-to pieces is a faux leather jacket. Not only do they keep you warm on cool days, but they instantly add a cool factor to any outfit. This blush-coloured jacket from Joe Fresh is currently my favourite. The silver hardware and the structure of the jacket have an edgy feel that I just love. I paired it with a classic all black outfit making it the perfect look for when you're out and about.

Five DIY Halloween Costumes

Hi everyone! First off I just want to apologize for not posting last week, but that's because I was working hard on today's post. I'm so excited for you guys to see this post. My wonderfully talented friend Emily Enns took the photos. Check out her website here.

Now lets get into the post.

I've put together five Halloween costumes that are perfect to DIY. Here they are!

1. Taylor Swift Red

This look is inspired by Taylor Swift's Red days. Blonde hair, black shorts, black and white striped shirt, and Mac's Ruby Woo red lipstick complete this look.

Office Chic

Black and white is probably my go-to for any outfit, especially for work wear. For this outfit I paired my favourite black trousers with a high-low blouse, gorgeous nude heels, and a cute laptop purse.  I added a low bun for a sophisticated hairdo.

This day was pretty fun to shoot in, it was super windy so my hair is a little wild in a couple of the shots.

Fall Days & Cute Skirts

Skirts are one my favourite articles of clothing. Not only do they come in an variety of styles, lengths, and patterns, but they can easily dress up any outfit. I love wearing skirts this fall. Pairing them with sheer tights and cute boots and a go-to of mine. The outfit below is one I put together for a fall day.

Five Fall Lip Colours

Last week's post was an Autumn/back-to-school inspired outfit and today I'm bringing you my favourite Fall lip colours. If you couldn't tell Fall is a big theme here. Also stay-tuned for next week's post on The Trendy Nail Files it may or may not be a fall nail tutorial.

Back to today's post.

Lipstick is my favourite beauty product. It's incredible how you can completely change a makeup look with just the colour of lipstick you choose. In my opinion, Fall and Winter are the best time of the year for lip colours. I just love a good red or berry lip!

Here are five colours that I love to wear during this time of the year.

All About Autumn

Back to school has finally arrived and fall is less than a week away. The time of Pumpkin spiced lattes, knitted sweaters, and Autumn scented candles are here and about to take over Tumblr and Instagram. What I consider to be the best part of fall (other than Halloween) is the colours. The warm caramels, browns, and deep reds are just a few of my favourite. Today's look is an ode to fall and to going back to school. I wanted to put together something that was not only comfortable, but also looked put together. Take a look!

Girls Night Out

Going out with my girlfriends is something that I just love doing. Whether we are going for dinner, hanging at a lounge, or out to a club I always want to look good, but feel comfortable. My favourite outfit to wear is usually a skirt and top, this way you can mix and match to create different looks. My biggest tip for girls night out outfits is to bring a small purse, you don't want to be lugging around a huge bag (especially when you're dancing). Also don't feel like you have to wear heels! Flats are cute and don't hurt your feet. I personally love pointed-toe flats and they add a classy element to any outfit.

Beauty Products I Swear By

Over the past six years since I started wearing makeup on a regular basis I've done my fair share of trial and error trying to find my go-to products. Although I haven't tried every beauty product on the market here is a list I complied of all my favourite products so far.

Black and White Chic

As the days of plus 30 degrees Celsius weather and sunburns come to an end, the colours of Fall start making a comeback. Which in my case is a good thing. If you look in my closet, you'll see that 95 per cent of it consists of neutrals (mostly black). It might be because I have an obsession with that colour pallet or it could be because it goes with everything.

Today's post is an ode to the last days of summer and the transition into Fall style. For this look I paired a black tank top with black ankle length pants and a white blazer. I added a pair of cute nude and black heels, my favourite bag of the moment, and a Taylor Swift inspired red lip.

Naked Smoky Review and Tutorial

About a week ago I caved and decided to splurge on the new Naked Smoky palette. If you are even a little bit aware of makeup then you've probably heard of Urban Decay's Naked palettes. I have the second and third one, but when I saw the gorgeous new Naked Smoky palette I just knew I had to add it to my collection. So after a couple weeks of putting it off I finally went out and purchased it.

Seven Random Facts About V (The Versatile Blogger Award)

Today's post is an exciting one. I was nominated by my fellow beauty/fashion blogger Beth from My So Kohl'd Life for the Versatile Blogger Award. Thanks Beth, how sweet of you!

The little white dress doesn't get enough credit. Sure the little black dress is a wardrobe must-have, but the bright and summery vibes that the little white dress has is just so happy. I recently just purchased a new one and thought I'd jazz it up with some pretty summer accessories.

Casually Denim

Simple pieces are my go to when it comes to any outfit. To me I find wearing simple pieces of clothing is like a blank canvas and my accessories are my paints. Today I've put together my ultimate cute and casual outfit. In my opinion it's a comfy tee and a pair of cute jeans. Currently I've been loving to add a jean shirt over top of my tee.

The First Post

The obligatory first post. Every blogger has to do it once. I've been thinking for a while what I should write for my first post. I thought of just jumping right in with a fashion or beauty related post, but I decided why not introduce myself first.

Let me start off by saying thanks for stopping by.

My name is Vanessa, but most of my friends call me V. I'm a writer and a college student.

Starting a style blog is something I've been wanting to do for while now. I've read style blogs and watched beauty gurus on YouTube for years. So I've finally jumped the boat and decided to start my own style focused blog.

I've always had a love for fashion, and beauty. When I was young I used to cut pictures out of magazines and make my own fashion mood boards.
